Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene Film

BOPP film, whose full name is Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene Film. It is a polypropylene film produced through the biaxial stretching process and is one of the most widely used and largest-volume plastic packaging materials in the world today.

Main Performance Characteristics of BOPP FILM

1. Excellent optical properties

  • High transparency: Crystal clear, able to perfectly display the product and enhance the attractiveness of the shelf.

  • High glossiness: Smooth surface, bright printing colors, and excellent visual effect.


2. Good mechanical properties

  • High tensile strength and rigidity: The film is very stiff, suitable for high-speed packaging machines, running smoothly, and with good packaging form.

  • Excellent wear resistance and puncture resistance: Can effectively protect the contents.


3. Excellent barrier properties

  • Excellent water vapor barrier: It is an excellent moisture-proof material, effectively preventing the contents from getting damp or losing moisture.

  • Note: Its oxygen barrier performance is average, so for packaging that requires oxygen separation, it needs to be combined with other high-oxygen barrier materials (such as PVDC coating, aluminum foil, EVOH, etc.).


4. Stable chemical properties

  • Non-toxic and odorless, meeting the hygiene standards for food and pharmaceutical packaging.

  • Good chemical stability, resistant to acids, alkalis, and oils.


5. Ideal secondary processing performance

  • After corona treatment, the surface tension is high, and it has excellent printing adaptability.

  • After coating with PVDC, acrylic, etc., its oxygen barrier performance can be significantly improved.

  • When combined with CPP, PE, VMCPP (aluminum-coated CPP), etc. through adhesives, it can generate high bonding strength, manufacturing various functional composite packaging materials.


6. Relatively low density

  • Density is approximately 0.91 g/cm³, lower than PET, PA, etc. The film area per unit weight is larger, and it has economic benefits.
